We just came back from short getaway to Hong Kong! We stayed 5D4N in Eaton Hong Kong, which is conveniently located 5-minutes walk away from Jordan MTR.

Why Eaton Hong Kong?
We have chosen this hotel because of the following reasons:
- The location is good.
- The hotel has pretty good reviews on Agoda.com – mostly from Singaporeans.
- The location is good.
So you see, we are really concerned with the location as we dislike spending unnecessary time traveling from one place to another. Jordan MTR is two stops away from Mong Kok and one stop away from Tsim Sha Tsui. The places that we are going to visit are located in these places.

The hotels in Mong Kok can be pretty cheap. However, Mong Kok is noisy – due to the nature of the place. On the other hand, the hotels in Tsim Sha Tsui are too expensive! Jordan hit the best spot for both quietness and budgeting.
Our Check-In Experience
We arrived the hotel at approximately 1:00 pm. Upon arrival, we were quickly shown to the check-in counter by a friendly hotel staff. As the room was not ready, we leave our luggage with the hotel and went out for lunch.
When we returned at 2:30 pm, the room was still not ready. We were told that we have to wait until 3:00 pm until the housekeeping is done. However at 3:00 pm, we were still not given our room. We were rather pissed off when the hotel staff gave us two complimentary tickets to redeem free drinks their bar. So we ordered two glasses of beer and chilled outside the lobby area.

Shortly after (about 15 minutes later?), we were given our keys! We quickly finished our drinks, took our luggage discretely, and swiftly went to our room.
Eaton Hong Kong’s Executive Room
The Executive Room is 24 sq.m in size. It can comfortably accommodate two adults with two medium-sized luggage. The room looks exactly like that one shown in Agoda.

We were quite happy with the room except for the air-conditioner. It was quite warmth at night even though the air-conditioner was at its strongest strength.
The Executive Room is also equipped with a handy phone. The mobile phone is equipped with Hong Kong’s sim card, which comes with free data! Guests are allowed to bring and use the mobile phone outside of the hotel room. Guests can also purchase tickets to Hong Kong’s tourist attractions (i.e. Disneyland Hong Kong) at a discounted price. We almost brought two tickets to 3D Museum. But limkopi being limkopi, we were not very comfortable in entering our credit card details into a unknown device. Then again, it is a very useful equipment if guests have not brought any local sim card. We bought our sim card from Changi Recommends before we board our flight.
Handy Phone for tourists! Indeed handy if you have not prepared any sims card! |
Unfortunately, we did not take any photos of the hotel’s toilet. The size and cleanliness of the toilet are reasonably comfortable. Both of us had a very nasty experience the last time we visited Hong Kong. This toilet is really considered the best we ever stayed.
We did not visit any facilities in the hotel as we spent most of our times outside of the hotel. There is a heated rooftop swimming pool on 21st floor though.
Is Eaton Hong Kong Worth the Price?
We would say that it is pretty worth it for its room and location. We paid approximately SGD 190/night for the room after discounts and credit card rebates. It is difficult to find a reasonably sized hotel for the price at a good location so we guessed we hinged a good deal. However, we are not too sure if the deluxe room will be as worth as the price.
There are many other hotels residing around Jordan MTR. We will probably try other hotels the next time we visit Hong Kong. Of course, if we are unable to find any good deals, we should be going back to Eaton Hong Kong again.
Overall, Eaton Hong Kong leaves a very good impression. We had a very comfortable experience!
